Snifox ("we", "us", "our") operates snifox.com and its subdomains (collectively, "the Sites"). This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the Sites and how it is used.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any personal details directly.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect or store any personal information directly. However, the following data may be collected automatically through third-party services:

• Server logs: Your IP address, browser type, and pages visited may be recorded in standard web server logs on our hosting provider for security and diagnostic purposes. These logs are not shared with third parties.
• Cookies from Google AdSense: We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to show you personalised ads based on your browsing activity across the web. We do not control these cookies.
• Cookies from Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, country). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymised usage data. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics. See Section 4 for more details and opt-out options.

3. Google AdSense and Advertising

• Collect or store visa application numbers you search for
• Sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes
• Use analytics data to identify individual users — all analytics are aggregate only
• Store any form submissions or user-generated content

6. Third-Party Data Sources

The Ireland Visa Status Tracker (visastat.snifox.com) displays data sourced from publicly available documents published on ireland.ie. We do not control this data and are not responsible for its accuracy. This tool is not affiliated with the Irish Embassy or any government authority.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data held about you.

Since we do not directly collect personal data, most GDPR rights relate to data held by third-party services (such as Google). You can manage your Google data preferences at myaccount.google.com.

8. Cookies

We use your browser's local storage (localStorage) to remember your dark/light mode preference and your cookie consent choice. These are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

Google AdSense and Google Analytics use cookies to serve personalised ads and collect anonymised usage data respectively. You can manage or delete these cookies through your browser settings at any time.

11. Visastat — Ireland Visa Email Alerts

The Ireland Visa Status Tracker (visastat.snifox.com) offers an optional one-time email alert ($1) that notifies you when new decisions are published for your application number.

Data we collect

• Email address — used to send the alert notification when a matching decision is found.
• Application number — used to match against new embassy decision data. Not stored beyond the active alert period.
• Lemon Squeezy order ID — used to verify payment and manage the one-time purchase.
• Alert status and timestamps — to track whether the alert has been triggered or is still pending.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to provide the email alert: monitoring for your application number and delivering a single notification email. Once the alert is triggered, the subscription is marked as fulfilled. We do not sell or share your data with third parties except our service providers listed below.

Sub-processors

• Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record) — processes the one-time payment. See Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
• Resend — delivers the alert email. See Resend Privacy Policy.
• Hetzner — hosts the service on EU infrastructure (Germany). See Hetzner Privacy Policy.

Data retention

Alert records are retained for up to 90 days after the alert is triggered or the subscription expires, then deleted.

Your rights

You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing contact@snifox.com.

Legal basis (GDPR)

Processing is carried out on the basis of contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — your data is necessary to deliver the alert you purchased.

12. LinkWatch — Broken Link Monitor

LinkWatch (linkwatch.snifox.com) is a paid subscription service ($8/month) that crawls your website weekly and emails you a health report.

Data we collect

• Email address — used to send weekly reports and subscription confirmation.
• Website URL — the site you subscribe to monitor, used to run the weekly crawl.
• Subscription status and timestamps — to manage your active subscription.
• Lemon Squeezy order ID and subscription ID — to process and cancel billing.
• IP address — held transiently in memory (up to 60 seconds) for rate limiting. Not persisted to disk.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to provide the monitoring service: crawling your site, sending reports, and managing your subscription. We do not sell or share your data with third parties except our service providers listed below.
